awards was held on Thursday 5th January 2017 in Abuja, Leicester City forward Riyad
Mahrez was crowned the new African Footballer of the year taking over from title holder Aubameyang.

Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi won the Youth Player of
The Year award, Asisat Oshola went home with
the Women’s Player of the Year award and the
CAF Platinum Award was presented to
President Muhammadu Buhari.
